Nursing is basically the study and practice of providing and implementing health care for the people who are sick and infirm. There were no formal training needed to execute such techniques. It was then became a profession in the late 1800’s in England and later in the US. Florence Nightingale led the establishment of the standards and regulations of nursing in England. Similar standards were also created in America and soon formed the Nurses Associated Alumnae, an organization which is responsible in advancing and protecting the nursing profession. It was later renamed to American Nurses Association.

In Illinois, even at present, the main industries still focuses in manufacturing, resource extraction of oil and coal, and agriculture. The state figured out that it needs to have medical services industries as well. Currently, it concentrates on getting more health care professionals, and that includes nurses. Without them, it would be even harder to get sick and recovering would be slower and more difficult.
